Create a plastic text effects in photoshop

1.Open a new document 500×300 and fill the background with white color.

2.Select Type tool and change the font style to Bookman Old Style and font color to #dbd7d7, for this tutorial i m going to type “shierel”(thats the name of my friend).

3.Double click on the text layer and select the inner glow and and change the color from yellow to dark gray #756B6B set the size to 5px.

4.Now create a new layer and name it highlight, holding the Ctrl key click on the text layer.

5.Now go to Select>modify>contract and set the contract by to 3 and fill the selected area with white color(Do not deselect the selected area).

6.Now select the elliptical marquee tool and using your left key press twice or thrice to move left after you make the move press delete, by now you have the plastic effect, let add some effect to look more cool.

7.Now Go to Filter>blur>Gaussian Blur and set the radius to 1.0.

8.Now lets add some depth to it select the text layer and double click on it and select the drop shadow option and change the distance to 3px and size to 9px. Now we have done with the plastic text effect tutorials.
